Cook, Sanford still among the injured in Vikings secondary
The Vikings might be without three of four opening week starters in the secondary this weekend in Dallas, according to the Star Tribune.
Harrison Smith remains on injured reserve with turf toe, and now cornerback Chris Cook (hip) and safety Jamarca Sanford (groin) are in jeopardy of missing the game. Both were held out of practice again on Thursday.
"It's a little scary when you start getting into your depth this early in the season," Frazier said.
Frazier is hopeful Cook and Sanford will be able to practice on Friday. If not, the Vikings could be looking at at starting secondary featuring rookie Xavier Rhodes and Josh Robinson at cornerback, Mistral Raymond and Andrew Sendejo at safety, and Marcus Sherels as an extra defensive back.

That scenario wouldn't bode well for the Vikings' 29th-ranked passing defense (288 yards/game). Couple that with the Cowboys' 8th-ranked passing offense (261 yards/game) and the Vikings could be in for a long day in Dallas.
