Hearing completed, decision on Peterson's playing status could come soon
Adrian Peterson's grievance hearing with the NFL has been completed, but there has not been a determination on whether or not the Vikings running back will be allowed to return this season.
According to Pro Football Talk, a decision on Peterson's reinstatement may not be far off though.
"Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the hearing was conducted and fully completed on Monday.
By rule, a decision must come by Saturday, November 22. The source says a ruling likely will come within two days.
If so, it will give Peterson an opportunity to practice with the Vikings in advance of Sunday's game against the Packers."
The ruling, by arbitrator, Shayam Das, must come by Saturday.
But regardless of what or when Das rules, the NFL could suspend Peterson for violating the league's player conduct policy.

Multiple reports, including one from Peter King wrote in his Monday Morning Quarterback predicted that Peterson would be suspended by the league Monday.
King's report was similar to a report from USA Today, which says the league's review of Peterson's case is nearly complete and a decision to suspend him is "very possible."
Pro Football Talk reports the league's inaction on Monday has led to growing speculation the sides may be trying to negotiate an agreement on Peterson's status.
If suspended, Peterson would have three days to file an appeal, according to Mike Florio.
Peterson issued a statement through the NFLPA on Sunday addressing a report that claimed he skipped a Friday hearing with the NFL. Peterson attempted to clear the air by saying he informed the NFL on Thursday that he wasn't going to attend the hearing because it violated the laws of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
