6 Days to the NFR: Bareback Rider No. 6 Orin Larsen
The Wrangler Nationals Finals kicks off in six days at the Thomas & Mack arena in Las Vegas. The NFR will take place from Dec. 7-16.
Orin Larsen is a Canadian cowboy that has made a big splash in the pro rodeo community since he earned his pro card. Making nine-consecutive trips to the NFR (2015-2023).
Larsen had a great 2023 season, currently situated in the sixth-place spot. Larsen earned $147,237 on the season.
With ten wins throughout the 2023 season, Larsen was on a mission to make it a habit to get to the NFR. Big wins include the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo, Cranbrook Pro Rodeo, and the Missoula Stampede.
Least year during the 2022 season, Larsen finished 14th in the world standings for the year. His 2022 NFR was cut short when he broke his thumb in the third round, not allowing him to continue .
He finished a career-best in 2019, he finished the season off in second-place. Earning a career high $296,404 in the 2019 PRCA season. Larsen won the Cheyenne Frontier Days, The American Rodeo, and the Canby Rodeo.
Larsen is seeking his first world championship in his thirteen season as a pro bareback rider. Larsen is also looking to claim his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo average title.
Larsen has quite the competition this year with many veteran bareback riders returning to the NFR this year. Not to mention the star rookies that found their way to their first NFR this year.
