Top-15 Bull Riders Headed Wright for Yellow Chutes at 65th NFR

Twelve bull riders are set to return to the Wrangler National Finals, three which will make their debut.

This has been an unusually historic year in rodeo earnings, especially in bull riding with Stetson Wright taking home a record $368,629. Wright has earned the most ever before an NFR and he's not done yet. The NFR is the most sought after rodeo of the year among athletes. It can be compared to the likes of the Worlds Series, the Super Bowl, or the NBA Finals, for the non-rodeo folk.

This year's NFR is boasting a go-round purse of $99,053 per event, with the winners pocketing $30,706 of that. The average leader at the end of the ten rounds will walk away with an astonishing $78,747. The average total increased to $297,159 as well.

Sure the athletes love earning the money, but their ambitions are more on the side of earning that shiny, gold buckle. That NFR gold buckle means more to those athletes than walking away with a paycheck. It is how they were raised.

Stetson Wright, Ky Hamilton, and Josh Frost lead the pack once again this year. With 12 of the 15 bull riders having already been to the NFR, this year is sure to be an exciting and action packed year in the bull riding. Hayes Weight, T Parker, and Cullen Telfer are the three riders making their debut to the NFR.
