Anthony Edwards makes all kinds of history in Wolves' win over Raptors
Every time the Minnesota Timberwolves play, Anthony Edwards makes some kind of history.
That trend continued for the 23-year-old during the Wolves' 112-101 win over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night as Edwards reached a pair of milestones that confirmed his track to stardom.
It started in the first quarter when Edwards hit a 3-pointer to become the youngest player in NBA history to hit 800 shots from downtown. The trey-ball also tied himself with Steph Curry as the fastest player to reach the milestone in NBA history as both players did it in their 305th career game.
Edwards made more history later in the night as he scored his 7,000th career point. At 23 years and 82 days, Edwards was the fourth-fastest player in NBA history to reach that mark trailing LeBron James (21 years, 358 days), Kevin Durant (22 years, 110 days) and Carmelo Anthony (22 years, 305 days).
Edwards finished with 24 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win for a Timberwolves team that has shaken off its season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
With Karl-Anthony Towns in New York, Edwards remains the face of the Timberwolves franchise and is continuing to make a mark on a national scale with performances like the one he had on Saturday night.
