Celtics Head Coach Makes Odd NBA Complaint

The Boston Celtics are in search of a second-straight NBA title after raising their 18th banner in the TD Garden on opening night.

Through a few games, the early returns have been incredible. Kristaps Porzingis remains sidelined, yet the Celtics look more than capable of repeating as champions. In fact, they're the favorite to hoist the Larry O'Brien by the end of the season.

On top of compiling some of the most talent any one roster in the NBA has, the Celtics have a head coach capable of leading the team into tough situations, as was proven with his title victory a season ago. 

Joe Mazzulla is among the league's best leaders and head coaches. While he has proven capable of pulling together an on-court product and managing a locker room, he also isn't shy of any viral moments.

Mazzulla's interviews and press conferences are highly intriguing because of his bold opinions and unique delivery. On Tuesday, the Celtics head coach made an odd complaint about the NBA, stating that the league should bring back fighting.

“The biggest thing that we rob people of, from an entertainment standpoint, is you can’t fight any more," Mazzulla claimed. "I wish you could bring back fighting… I just don’t get why some sports are allowed to clear the benches... We just have a ball. The other sport has one of the hardest surfaces and playing instrument in pucks and sticks and we’re not allowed to throw down a little bit?”

It's been proven that Mazzulla has an interesting line of thinking, but the Celtics embrace the odd character he brings, which is entertaining in itself. 

If Boston is continuing to win games at a high level, Mazzulla reserves the right to question why fighting isn't allowed in the NBA.
