Bogut, Lakers agree to one-year contract

Free agent center Andrew Bogut has agreed to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bogut's agent told The Vertical.

According to NBA.com, the contract is for the veteran minimum. It is partially guaranteed, added ESPN.

Bogut, 32, is coming off a season in which he played 26 games with the Dallas Mavericks -- and less than one minute with the Cleveland Cavaliers before fracturing his leg.

He won a title with the Golden State Warriors in 2015, then returned to the Finals with the Warriors in 2016, when they lost to the Cavs.

His agent, David Bauman, said last week an CT scan showed that Bogut's leg is completely healed.

The Lakers' frontcourt has been remade following the acquisition of former Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez, obtained in a trade centered on guard D'Angelo Russell.

Along with Bogut and Lopez, the list of Lakers big men includes forwards Julius Randle, Larry Nance Jr. and rookie Kyle Kuzma, as well as center Ivaca Zubac.

When healthy, Bogut is considered one of the league's premier rim-protectors.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and Cavs were also "in the mix" for Bogut, according to NBA.com.
