Childress signs camp deal with Nuggets

Free agent swingman Josh Childress has signed a training camp contract with the Denver Nuggets, according to a report from Basketball Insiders.

"Childress, who is now represented by agent Daniel Hazan, will become the first player to sign with an NBA team after playing in the BIG3," Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders reported.

According to Scotto, the deal is non-guaranteed.

Childress, 34, last played in the NBA in 2013-14 with New Orleans. Even that was only for four games.

He was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 6 overall pick in 2004, then left for Greece in 2008. His NBA career went downhill after that, receiving only short runs with the Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets.

He has also spent time in the G League, Australia and Japan.
