Report: Lakers trying to land another pick

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to acquire another first-round draft pick, potentially in the top 14, according to a report from ESPN.

The Lakers currently own the Nos. 2 and 28 overall pick in the first round.

The Detroit Pistons are said to be looking to move their No. 12 overall pick, and sources have told Amico Hoops the Pistons and Lakers may have already connected.

Per ESPN:

The Lakers have engaged at least two teams in the lottery, sources said, as they search for players to improve their outside shooting and perimeter defense. ... While there have been inquires on the No. 2 pick, sources said it remains unlikely the Lakers would trade out of that position.

The Boston Celtics hold the No. 1 overall pick, but reportedly are swapping with the Philadelphia 76ers, who currently hold the third pick. Meanwhile, the Lakers have been linked to rumors centered on Paul George, the Indiana Pacers star from Los Angeles.

The Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers are also considered strong suitors for George. (Full report.)
