Free agent guard Chiozza signs with Wizards for camp

The Washington Wizards have signed free agent point guard Chris Chiozza to complete their training camp roster, per a news release from the team.

Chiozza is 6-foot-0 and went undrafted out of Florida in 2018. He was signed by the Houston Rockets in March and appeared in seven games. He was waived by the Rockets in July.

He spent most of his time with the G League's Capital City Go Go last season, appearing in 47 games and averaging 13.2 points, 7.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds.

The Wizards could use some help at point guard, as John Wall (Achilles) could miss the season and Isaiah Thomas (thumb) several months. The Wizards also traded Tomas Satoransky to the Chicago Bulls, leaving Ish Smith as the lone proven starter.
