CBS 11 reported that "The Palisades Fire in Los Angeles has grown to cover over 31 square miles and likely destroyed thousands of structures," via Cal Fire. ... and one of the homes destroyed is Kerr's childhood residence.

The destructive fire affected Kerr's family, childhood friends, and memories of his youth.

The Warriors' head coach shared the disheartening news with the media before Thursday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Thankfully, his mother is fine, but the neighborhood where he grew up is gone.

“That's my hometown, and all my friends who are from there, pretty much, they've all lost, lost their homes, their family homes, child, our whole high school is gone," Kerr said.

Kerr also expressed gratitude to those who escaped the deadly wildfire. Most people couldn't articulate such pain, let alone be in front of a room full of cameras and reporters. Kerr once again showcases why his leadership is vital for the Warriors on and off the court.

However, for as strong as Kerr is, considering the horrible experience his family experienced, perhaps someone should be in his corner, providing support.
