It's been a tumultuous past year for Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. The All-Star point guard not only saw his team get upset in the first round of the playoffs by the Los Angeles Lakers but has been involved in multiple troubling incidents off the court.

The most recent came when he was suspended by the NBA for a second time after a video showing Morant holding a gun circulated on social media.

Morant, who was suspended for eight games last season after a similar video surfaced, is currently barred from all basketball activities, and there has been some speculation that he could miss up to half of next season.

In the midst of all that, Morant posted a cryptic video on Instagram that has fans concerned. In a short video, which has since been deleted, Morant thanked his parents and his daughter before writing "bye."

The video, of course, could mean any number of things. It could mean Morant is taking a hiatus from social media — which would make sense considering both of his gun-related suspensions have resulted from videos being posted to Instagram.

He also might be taking some time to himself to reflect on his situation. Hopefully, the post doesn't carry any more serious meaning than that.

Morant hasn't said much publicly about his latest suspension, although he did release a statement last week, which read: "“I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”

Morant appears to be in danger of losing several sponsorship deals as a result of his actions, including his signature sneaker with Nike, which is no longer listed on the company's website.

Hopefully he emerges from this adversity with more maturity and perspective as a result of it and can continue his spectacular career on the court.
