Former NBA Center Mark Bryant Joins Knicks' Coaching Staff: Tracker
JULY 27 KNICKS HIRE BRYANT The New York Knicks have made a number of big moves this offseason, and now they are making some key additions to their coaching staff.
Per a report by Ian Begley of SNY, the team has hired long-time NBA big man Mark Bryant. He was most recently with the Detroit Pistons, and is seen as one of, if the not the best big man coach in the NBA.
Bryant played 15 seasons himself in the league, and he will be looking to use that experience to help the Knicks contend this season.
JULY 27 KNICKS NEW STARTING FIVE The New York Knicks have made a number of big moves in the offseason, and their starting lineup is going to look a bit different as a result.
In a recent article by YardBarker, they predict what the Knicks' starting five is going to look like, and it could be one of the best in the league. Jalen Brunson is at the one, new acquisition Mikal Bridges at the two, OG Anunoby at the three, Julius Randle at the four, and Mitchell Robinson at the five.
With this starting lineup, the Knicks will have one of the best defenses in the entire NBA, and they will be able to better contend with the greatness of the Boston Celtics at the top of the Eastern Conference.
JULY 27 JULIUS RANDLE IS... STAYING IN NEW YORK? Despite the clamoring around Julius Randle, a recent report indicated the New York Knicks All-Star is staying with the team he helped build. Following an offseason in which the Knicks signed OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson for a combined $369 million, it appeared Randle was the odd-man out of the Villanova Knicks equation.
However, recent reports have said otherwise. "I have absolutely no indication that the Knicks are trying to trade Julius Randle. None whatsoever," The Athletic's Fred Katz stated on a recent Lowe Post Podcast hosted by ESPN's Zach Lowe.
If the Knicks genuinely look to keep Randle, the All-Star forward is available for a contract extension on August 3. Time will tell if the Knicks will keep Randle or if the franchise is merely waiting to rebuild his trade value.
JULY 27 CHARLES BARKLEY IS IN NO RUSH The Inside the NBA has one more season before the new 11-year partnership of the two new media partners, NBCUniversal and Amazon Prime Video, takes TNT's coveted spot. In a recent interview on the Dan Patrick Show, Charles Barkley revealed his thoughts and possible plans for the future.
Barkley claimed "everything is on the table" as he contemplates a future outside TNT. The star personality reiterated his "intention is to retire," but he also admitted he'd "be stupid" not to listen to offers.

JULY 27 JOSH HART SUPPORTS ROOMMATES PODCAST CO-HOST Jalen Brunson is New York's favorite player in light of the All-Star's decision to take less money the recently-signed contract extension. Furthermore, the New York Knicks guard received signed cleats from Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees All-Star.
Naturally, the next step in Brunson's journey to becoming an honorary Yankees member meant performing an act of baseball. Brunson received the privilege of throwing out the first in the Subway series, the annual contest between the Yankees and the New York Mets. Unfortunately, the Yankees lost to the Mets 12-3.
Despite the bad beat, Brunson's podcast and basketball teammate showed support in the distinct Josh Hart manner. "My boy throwing that thang," Hart said of Brunson's first pitch.
