Kobe Bryant ‘I’m Going to The Knicks!’ Prediction Revealed
Adrian Wojnarowski was known in his heyday as the biggest insider in all of the NBA for ESPN.
Even with him leaving the network, that doesn't mean he's suddenly against dropping some good old-fashioned "Woj Bombs." Speaking on former New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony's 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, Wojnarowski detailed one final bomb that happened decades ago that could have changed life in the NBA forever. …
And how it centered around the Knicks, and one of the greatest scorers of all-time.
Wojnarowski claimed that Los Angeles Lakers Hall-of-Famer Kobe Bryant always believed he would end up playing for the Knicks and the "Mecca of Basketball," Madison Square Garden.
“Kobe always thought—he was convinced he was going to end up with the Knicks," Wojnarowski said. “This was when Jim Buss was running the Lakers. I remember sitting there with Kobe down in Orange County—I think Tim Grover was with us—and I remember him saying, ‘They’re going to amnesty me, no one’s going to claim me off waivers, and I’m gonna’ go sign with the Knicks.’"
Wojnarowski did not detail exactly when this conversation happened, but did state his claim to the now-deceased superstar that the Lakers would have never amnestied him due to the love Los Angeles had for him.
This isn't the first time the Lakers and Bryant were rumored to be looking for ways to depart from each other during the star's 20-year NBA career.
This is the first time the Knicks have been brought up as a former destination for him and shows just how big the franchise could have been with the right stars in place.
