Kevin Durant Favored to Reunite with Old Team as Odds Emerge
With the NBA trade deadline coming up on Thursday at. 3 p.m. ET, there are plenty of rumors surfacing. After the shocking trade of Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis, it feels that nobody in the league is safe, as Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic said on Monday night.
Another superstar whose name has surfaced in trade rumors is Kevin Durant. While it would be surprising to see the Phoenix Suns trade him, Durant's name has been tossed around as an option for several teams.
On Tuesday, the latest odds showed the Golden State Warriors as the favorite to land Durant in a reunion, per Bovada.
Here are the top teams on the list, courtesy of Bovada.
- Golden State Warriors: +220
- Washington Wizards: +325
- Milwaukee Bucks: +375
- Miami Heat: +425
- Los Angeles Lakers: +600
- Oklahoma City Thunder: +650
- San Antonio Spurs: +750
The Warriors are also the favorite for Durant on BetOnline at +250 with the Bucks behind at +300. The Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets are next with +1000 odds.
NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that the Suns were taking calls on Durant, so there should be plenty of interest if that is the case.
Durant returning to Golden State would be something else, and it would give Stephen Curry and Draymond Green more firepower in hopes of churning out another NBA Finals run.
There are some other intriguing destinations on Bovada's list, including the Bucks and the Lakers. Imagining a Lakers tandem of LeBron James, Doncic and Durant is something.
Nonetheless, Durant's name will be thrown around quite a bit until Thursday's deadline hits, and it will be interesting to see if he ends up outside of Phoenix for the rest of the season.
