Spurs' Injuries Pile Up Before Matchup vs. Jazz
The San Antonio Spurs (7-8) will take on the Utah Jazz (3-11) on Thursday night. These two teams have already played each other twice and split both matchups. However, the Spurs will be incredibly shorthanded tonight. That wasn't a problem on Tuesday, as they bested the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-104 without their three best players, but any game without the stars will be a challenge.
The Spurs have relied on Stephon Castle to shoulder a load on both ends of the court, and so far it has worked out, especially on defense. The Spurs are favored in the game, but all signs point to the Jazz having the best player on the court: forward Lauri Markkanen.

Without Wembanyama, expect Charles Bassey to get plenty of minutes again. With both of Utah's big men out, Bassey should be a beast in the interior, and the two-man tandem of him and Castle could have a solid outing.
After beating the Thunder, the Spurs are on borrowed time, but a statement win like that should give them some motivation, and the sportsbooks expect the Spurs to win two straight games.
