Timberwolves Coach Takes Shot at Luka Doncic, Mavericks Ahead of Game 5
You always love when a head coach sticks up for his team in the midst of an intense playoff battle. You especially love it when that coach takes shots at the other team while doing so.
Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch did both on Thursday afternoon when commenting on the upcoming Game 5 against the Dallas Mavericks, throwing some shade at Luka Doncic in particular.
When asked about how he thought Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards had been performing as the primary defender of Doncic, Finch had this to say, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon:
“He does a better job of getting over all those illegal screens they set for Luka."
Doncic is averaging 31.5 points per game this series, with the Mavericks leading 3-1 going into the pivotal matchup on Thursday night. Often times, coaches stay stuff like this to bring it to the attention of the refs in hopes that they might call it tighter going forward.
We will see if some of those illegal screens get called in Game 5.
