Timberwolves sign Turiaf

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Timberwolves signed center Ronny Turiaf on Thursday.

Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Turiaf, 30, averaged 1.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 65 games for the Clippers last season. He also played in five playoff games, averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds.

Selected by the Lakers with the 37th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, the 6-foot-10 Turiaf has averaged 4.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest over his eight-year NBA career.
