Regardless of the order of the top 10 fantasy quarterbacks this far in advance of the 2017 NFL season, most of these players are going in the fifth round or later. The biggest lesson learned here is to wait on a quarterback. The average draft position for Aaron Rodgers, the No. 1 QB, is the end of the second round. Tom Brady usually goes in the middle of the third round, and Drew Brees in the fourth.
The veteran quarterbacks are still the guys to target, which isn't surprising. However, two third-year QBs — Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota — round out the top 10. Both players are on teams that have added weapons to their receiving corps and both should have successful seasons. But don't reach for them on draft day either as value can be found in the later rounds.
