2020 NFL Draft: Safety Rankings

While the cornerback class for the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft features some impressive prospects, don't forget about the other position in the secondary — safety. Teams looking to add some size, speed, physicality, and athleticism to their back end will have their share of options when the draft begins on April 23.

As part of Athlon Sports' 2020 NFL Draft Guide, we have ranked each position, including 45 total safeties. LSU All-American and Jim Thorpe Award winner Grant Delpit is the top overall safety followed closely behind by Alabama free safety Xavier McKinney. They are the only two who received first-round grades from Athlon but a total of 10 were given a third-round grade or higher. So while many safeties may not go in the first 32 picks, expect plenty to hear their name called sooner rather than later and for the overall number to add up before the draft is over.
