Strong Points

With long limbs and a broad frame, Pierce brings prototypical NFL size. He’s a coordinated mover; as a downfield target, he adjusts well to the ball and is aggressive at the catch point. He shows some suddenness and lateral movement skills you don’t usually find in a receiver that big when working against press coverage, getting behind the defensive back and effectively stacking him. He’s adept in the scramble drill. He’ll also compete hard as a blocker.

Weak Points

Pierce needs to become more refined as an intermediate route-runner. He has the size but needs to do a better job using his frame when working in-breaking routes or facing the line of scrimmage. He isn’t as comfortable working in tight spaces.

Summary

He enters the league as a downfield specialist. But Pierce’s size and movement skills suggest he has a chance to become a more refined and more complete receiver.
