When it comes to Carson Strong he certainly lives up to his last name in one respect and that's a big reason why he's considered one of the more intriguing quarterback prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft. The former Nevada signal-caller has a strong arm, which will certainly appeal to some teams. However, he's more of a throwback at the position so his lack of mobility and athleticism as well as questions about the quality of competition faced playing for a Mountain West team will factor into where he lands in the draft.

Carson Strong Draft Profile
His arm is in the running for best in class, and Strong is a distributor who can put the ball just about anywhere. He operates more strictly from the pocket than the other top prospects, and he shows a good feel, moving subtly in tight spaces and keeping the ball ready to throw. His mechanics are tight and his release quick enough. He’s adept at dropping throws over the linebacker level; his accuracy is good at the deep-intermediate levels; and he’s capable of firing the ball over the top.
He doesn’t bring the kind of movement skills teams are increasingly looking for from their quarterbacks. Strong rarely moves out of the pocket, he doesn’t have elite processing quickness (a la Mac Jones) and his second-reaction ability is limited.
Strong can be considered something of a throwback, a big power thrower but a quarterback limited to playing from the pocket. That still holds appeal to some teams, though.
