San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo led his team to victory vs. the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.
It was a loud reminder of what Garoppolo is capable of. He won't win you games, but he sure does know how to run Kyle Shanahan's offense, practically to perfection too.
There was one point early in the game when Garoppolo missed three straight throws. But Kyle Shanahan is willing to forgive those miscues based on how he played the rest of the game.
Kyle Shanahan was asked about the early series in which Jimmy Garoppolo threw three straight incompletions. His response finished with: "Those were the few he missed in the game, but overall he played pretty dang good."
Jimmy Garoppolo completed 16 of his 27 pass attempts for 239 yards and one touchdown. More importantly, he avoided turnovers and the Niners beat the Rams 24-9.
The San Francisco defense is easily tops in the NFL right now. As long as Garoppolo doesn't get in the way the 49ers will be an NFC contender the rest of the year.
The 49ers play the Panthers this Sunday.
