Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco 49ers signed running back Carlos Hyde and cornerback Dontae Johnson to four-year deals on Thursday.
Hyde was San Francisco's second-round pick, 57th overall, of this year's draft out of Ohio State.
In four seasons with the Buckeyes, he played in 41 games with 20 starts and totaled 3,198 rushing yards on 523 carries with 37 touchdowns, while adding 34 catches for 271 yards and four scores.
As a senior, he posted 1.527 yards on 208 carries with 15 touchdowns and 16 catches for 147 yards and three scores. Also, he had 100-yard rushing games over his nine final contests with the school.
Johnson was the second of two fourth-round draft choices and was the 129th overall selection out of North Carolina State. He played 50 games, starting 28, and amassed 217 tackles, 10 passes defensed, four sacks, three interceptions and two forced fumbles.
