Arizona Cardinals training camp isn't off to the best start. Not only is Kyler Murray out of the mix following a positive COVID test; Marquise "Hollywood" Brown was arrested this week.
Brown was arrested and charged with "criminal speeding" on Wednesday. The new Cardinals wideout was arrested at 7:05 a.m. and booked into Maricopa County Jail.
"Cardinals’ WR Marquise Brown was arrested and charged with criminal speeding on Wednesday morning. Arizona Department of Safety spokesman Bart Graves confirmed Brown was arrested at 7:05 a.m. in north Phoenix and booked in the Maricopa County Jail, per the AP," said ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Marquise Brown was reportedly speeding at 126 MPH in a 65-MPH zone. An officer, who was parked under an overpass, pulled him over.
"We are aware of the situation regarding Hollywood Brown and have reported it to the NFL office as required," the Cardinals said in a statement. "We will comment further as appropriate."
A disappointing development for both Brown and the Cardinals. Luckily, it shouldn't impact his availability this upcoming season.
