The Baltimore Ravens have been in the market for a defensive lineman these past few months. It appears they have found their man. The AFC North franchise is signing veteran defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul.
The Ravens are signing Pierre-Paul to a one-year deal worth up to $5.5 million, according to a report. It's a non-minimum deal, which is rare for this time of year.
Pierre-Paul should make an immediate impact for the Baltimore defense in the coming weeks. It's unlikely, however, that he plays in Week 3 when the Ravens take on the New England Patriots.
"The #Ravens and Jason Pierre-Paul, who have been talking for months, agreed to terms on a 1-year deal worth up to $5.5M, source said. A rare non-minimum deal during the season," said Ian Rapoport.
The Ravens have quite the experienced defensive line out there in Baltimore.
"Justin Houston has 104 career sacks Calais Campbell has 94.5 career sacks Jason Pierre-Paul has 91.5 career sacks 290 career sacks between three players for the Ravens," said Kevin Oestreicher.
The Ravens take on the Patriots this Sunday.
