Puzzling Lamar Jackson Sideline Photo Is Trending After Ravens-Bengals
Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season kicked off with a "Thursday Night Football" battle between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium.
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens were able to overcome a potentially game-tying final-minute touchdown drive by Joe Burrow and the Bengals. After getting into the end zone with 38 seconds remaining, Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor opted to go for a two-point conversion and the win instead of kicking an extra point, but the attempt failed, and Baltimore left with a 35-34 win.
At the beginning of the first quarter, Jackson was spotted sitting on the bench, all bundled up in a big sideline jacket with a winter hat and neck/face cover, trying to stay warm. What confused a lot of people was that the weather didn’t necessarily call for such a heavy ensemble, making fans wonder why he chose to wear it in the first place.
According to Weather Underground, a subsidiary of Weather.com, the temperature at the scheduled 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff time was roughly 65 degrees Fahrenheit, and it didn't drop below 60 degrees Fahrenheit until after 10:00 p.m. ET.
This sideline outfit of choice by Jackson left many NFL fans puzzled, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.
"Why is Lamar Jackson dressed like this on the sideline in 68 degree weather??" one fan asked.
"Lamar Jackson is from Florida Anything under 80 is cold for them," said another.
"Lamar is dressed like he's playing at Arrowhead Stadium in January. They just showed him on the sideline in a thick coat, winter hat and the neck/ face cover thing guys wear under their helmet. It's 67 degrees in Baltimore!" commented a third.
"Lamar is wearing all sort of cold gear and it’s normal in Balt….. he’s already in playoff peak form it seems," chimed in a fourth.
"Dawg Lamar kills me. Weather is 68 degrees and he’s all bundled up," said a fifth.
"It’s like 70 degrees in Maryland rn why Lamar bundled up like that? Lmao," asked another.
Jackson continued his run at a third NFL MVP award with another solid performance, completing 25-of-33 passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns while adding 33 more yards on the ground.
After starting the season 0-2, the Ravens have now won seven of their last eight contest, jumping to 7-3 on the season. Baltimore will have a nice long rest before their next game in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 17.
