Denver Broncos linebacker Aaron Patrick suffered one of the most unfortunate injuries you'll ever see on Monday Night Football.
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network has reported that Patrick tore his ACL on the play, which would end his season.
The injury occurred when Patrick ran out of bounds while pursuing Chargers punt returner DeAndre Carter. Patrick ran into a bystander on the sideline. In an effort to avoid a collision, Patrick stepped on a piece of carpet and his knee buckled.

Patrick had played almost exclusively on special teams this season, so his injury shouldn't have too drastic an effect on a Broncos team that has seen more than its fair share of players go down this year.
Still, it's a brutal break for Patrick, a second-year pro out of Eastern Kentucky. Here's hoping he makes a full recovery and gets another shot in the league.
