Broncos Running Back Melvin Gordon Has Honest Admission On Playing Time

Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos

No one is happy in Denver following their third consecutive loss on Monday night to the Chargers.

Broncos' running back Melvin Gordon is no exception, as the veteran voiced his displeasure with Denver's second-half game plan in a postgame interview following the 19-16 loss to Los Angeles in overtime.

"Melvin Gordon had 3 carries for 8 yards tonight. They all came in the first quarter," NFL Network's Bridget Condon reported postgame. "It was a close game. I felt like I could've helped make a difference but apparently not," Melvin Gordon told Condon.

After a strong first half where the Broncos' offense put up 13 points, Denver was limited to a total of 3 points between the second half and overtime period.

While Gordon certainly isn't the only member of Denver's offense that is struggling, his 3 carries for 8 yards tied a season low. It was Latavius Murray, not Gordon, that received the lion's share of backfield work for Denver Monday Night.

The Broncos' running back room appears to be a full committee, with Gordon, Mike Boone, and now apparently Murray, splitting work on a "who looks best" each week basis.
