Bills Reveal Emotion On 'Cool' Return Of All-Pro Matt Milano
The return of linebacker Matt Milano to the starting lineup for the Buffalo Bills was a welcome sight for the organization and Bills Mafia.
An All-Pro linebacker in his prime, Milano has been hit with major injuries throughout the last few seasons. He tore his triceps at the beginning of training camp and was seemingly lost for the 2024 season.
Clearly not quite.
Milano's return to Buffalo couldn't have come at a better time for the Bills. The former Boston College product recorded five tackles in the team's 35-10 blowout win over the San Francisco 49ers.
It was the type of game that made defensive coordinator Bobby Babich very pleased to see.
"It was really cool to see. He's put a lot of time and effort and hard work into what we've tried to accomplish here," Babich said. "Him breaking his leg in London, having to stay over there for an extended amount of time, whatever that was, a couple days a week, whatever. And, you know, some different things having to – you know, the work he's put in here, going to meetings every day, knowing he's not playing. There's so much that goes into it that not a lot of people see. And it's really cool to see him back out there."
If the Bills are to be true Super Bowl contenders, they know that they'll need Milano at full health to get there. As the leader of the defense, he gets the team ready to play and has everyone in the right position.
A role like that is invaluable to any franchise and it's why the Bills are so thrilled to get Milano back and healthy.
