BREAKING: Tyreek Hill Signs New Dolphins Contract - $106.5 Million Guaranteed - Bills Tracker

AUG 3 TYREEK PAID The Dolphins and star receiver Tyreek Hill - just named the No. 1 player on the NFL Top 100 list - on Saturday have agreed to a new contract.

He now gets $90 million over the next 3 years with $65 million guaranteed, per NFL Network, which notes that this deal brings the four-year total of fully guaranteed money to $106.5 million.

JULY 31 GM AARON Last year, Aaron Rodgers played in the Jets' final preseason game.

Who made that decision?

Aaron Rodgers.

A year later, here we are again, with NFL teams - including Josh Allen's Bills - needing to make the infamous "rest vs. rust'' sort of decision.

The Jets, it seems, won't use Rodgers in the first two two preseason games. But ...

Last year, Rodgers, who turns 41 in December, made the unilateral decision to play in the third one.

Will he do that again? That's unknown.

But will he be in charge making that decision.

JULY 31 NO WAY We're not sure we can make much sense of it ... Maybe the Dolphins are getting an offer they simply cannot refuse?

But ... a report - rumor? - claims the Pittsburgh Steelers (via DK Pittsburgh Sports) are trying to trade for Tyreek Hill.

"According to a team source,'' the site claimed, the Steelers are 'convinced' they are going to land (Brandon) Aiyuk, DK Metcalf, or Tyreek Hill in a trade at some point."

From a Bills perspective? Hill is a kook. But he's also among the NFL's most talented, most frightening and most valuable players.

So yes, Dolphins, go about your business in dumping Tyreek. ... and get him the heck out of the AFC East.

'JULY 27 QB SIGNED On Saturday, the Jets announced the signing of QB Adrian Martinez (while releasing another QB, Ben Bryant).

What's Martinez potentially give the Aaron Rodgers-led QB room?

Martinez, who spent time on the Lions practice squad last year, is coming off a big season in the UFL. The 24-year-old won the league MVP Award, led the UFL in rushing and guided the Birmingham Stallions to a championship victory.

So ... obviously, athletically, worth a look.

JULY 26 MVS CREDIT Does former Kansas City wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling deserve more credit for Patrick Mahomes' Super Bowls there? And for Aaron Rodgers' success in Green Bay?

On Tyler Dunne's Go Long website, Valdes-Scantling is making the claim that he "helped (QBs) elevate their games in different facets.''

Said Valdes-Scantling: "I helped Aaron (Rodgers) win a couple MVPs. I helped Pat win MVP, a couple Super Bowls. My resume speaks for itself, too. Ain’t a one-way thing, man.''

Chiefs fans might debate this a bit, while Bills Mafia is sure to react, "Cool. Now do it here!''

JULY 26 PEPPERS IN WITH PATS He is billed as their best defensive player, so it's a smooth move in the AFC East.

The Patriots and safety Jabrill Peppers are reportedly finalizing a three-year extension ... part of New England's efforts to continue to build with defense.

ESPN reports that the deal for the Buffalo foe will come with a base value of $24 million and can be worth up to $30 mil.

JULY 24 AARON'S HEAD The New York Jets have opened training camp with Aaron Rodgers ... and he's now talking not about his physical health ... but rather, what's going on above his shoulders.

How is rehabbed Achilles doing?

And after one day of practice, Rodgers says he feels great.

"It's going to take a little time, but I feel great," Rodgers said. "The last 5 percent of being 100 percent is just the mental part. And today on the last play, being able to move in the pocket quickly and not think about it, that's a part of the last 5 percent."

JULY 23 WORST NEW COACH As training camps open, there are eight "new'' coaches in the league this season. Somebody's got to be the worst of them, right, Fox Sports?

Fox Sports believes New England will go 3-14. That’s not a great NFL debut for rookie head coach Jerod Mayo.

“On the bright side,” says Fox Sports, “the Patriots defense was pretty good last season. But how much of that was Belichick, who still was one of the best defensive minds in the game? Mayo, who was Belichick’s inside linebackers coach, will find out quickly, because he’s going to need that defense to be just as good if he hopes to win any games at all.”

The projection is not positive for the new Patriots boss, who will be chasing the Bills - and maybe all of the other teams - in the AFC East.

JULY 22 FROMM TO GB? Jake Fromm was a QB in waiting in Buffalo during the 2020 season. But now the former Georgia QB might have a shot in Green Bay.

The Packers recently hosted the potential Jordan Love backup for a workout and could sign him ... at least as a veteran arm for training camp.

Fromm has had cups of coffee with the Commanders and Giants in addition to being a Bills backup.

JULY 21 MAYE SITS Jacoby Brissett now finds himself leading the New England Patriots ... at least for a bit.

The Patriots' decision to start Brissett until rookie Drake Maye is ready is sure to be controversial inside the AFC East - especially if the Pats fail to win with the vet.

Brissett, a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, began his professional journey with the Patriots. He was traded to the Indianapolis Colts after his rookie season in exchange for receiver Phillip Dorsett. During his time with the Patriots, Brissett started two games and won a Super Bowl as Tom Brady's backup.

His path since then has been less illustrious, with stints at the Colts and, most recently, the Commanders in 2023.

But can he be the "bridge'' as Maye, the No. 3 overall pick, acclimates to the NFL?

That is the New England plan.
