Bills' Josh Allen Stands to Collect Massive Bonus Payout With NFL MVP Win
You might have noticed that, around the NFL, more and more attention is being shifted toward Buffalo. Not only are the Bills sitting at 10-2 and nipping at the heels of the Chiefs, a team they beat back in Week 12, but their quarterback, Josh Allen, keeps putting forth monster performance after monster performance.
On Sunday night, he became the first player to throw, run for and catch a touchdown in NFL history, during the Bills' impressive destruction of the 49ers. In 12 games now, Allen has 2,691 yards passing and has logged 20 touchdowns with five interceptions. His 1.4% interception rate is the lowest of his career, and he's been sacked just 13 times.
Allen has also rushed for 334 yards and six scores, and is getting increasing attention as the league MVP. He has become a heavy betting favorite, at minus-270, to win the award, according to FanDuel. Running back Saquon Barkley, at plus-450, is No. 2 on the list.
No doubt, the MVP trophy would be a major score for Allen. But that's not the only way he'd come out a winner in all this.
According to Mike Ginnitti of "The Spotrac Podcast," Allen will make a pretty penny if he finishes the season strong and wins MVP.
"It's worth saying it, because it is a big one--if he finishes this thing off and wins MVP, it is a $1.5 million bonus in his hand. And it's already a $60 million season for Josh Allen. So he's got plenty--he has $15 million of attainable incentives, and it looks like the MVP one is his to lose right now. Something to keep an eye on, as well."
The Bills will play the Rams on the road this Sunday at 4:25 EST, but will have an enormous matchup against the Lions, in a potential Super Bowl preview, on the road in Week 15.
