Josh Allen Reveals Bills vs. Broncos Playoff Mentality
The Buffalo Bills have done a lot of work to put themselves in a position to have a genuine shot at a Super Bowl.
Getting the No. 2 seed, the Bills will be at home in the first round of the playoffs with Sean Payton's Denver Broncos coming to Highmark Stadium.
Buffalo is expected to at least make the Super Bowl after such a dominant regular season, which saw them post a 13-4 record and have the second-highest-scoring offense in football (30.9 p/g). Naturally, eyes might shift to what is ahead.
But for Josh Allen, while the goal is Super Bowl, he and his team are focused on what is in front of them, and that's Denver.
“You got to put one foot in front of the other,” Allen said. “It's the team that came in here last year and they beat us, it's a very good team, they're well coached, their defensive line is one of the best in the league. They got a couple guys outside that can absolutely go, obviously look at [Patrick] Surtain one of the best corners in the game, we're going to have our hands full. We're just trying to put one foot in front of the other, take it day by day and have a good week of practice and then try to go out there and execute on Sunday.”
Allen is also firming as the MVP favourite along with Lamar Jackson, and that brings its own set of pressures. The Bills can't go one-and-done with the potential MVP in their ranks.
So, while playoff football sees the pressure ramp up, when you have Allen and this high-octane offense, it is easy to see why they are expected to brush aside the Broncos.
But now it is a one-game season. Win, and you move on. Lose, and the season is over.
No pressure, Josh.
