The Carolina Panthers are officially placing an All-Pro return specialist on the injured reserve. Luckily, it's not season ending. That player heading to the injured reserve list is veteran wide receiver Andre Roberts.
Roberts, 30, suffered a PCL sprain during Sunday's game between the Panthers and Brown. Carolina came away with the season-opening loss.
However, Roberts does not require surgery. That's the bright side. The bad news is he's expected to be out a while. A significant blow to the Panthers.
"#Panthers return specialist Andre Roberts, who was placed on injured reserve today, suffered a PCL sprain in Sunday’s loss to the #Browns, per source. No surgery required, but it’ll be awhile for Roberts, the three-time All-Pro," said Tom Pelissero.
A significant loss for the Carolina Panthers. Hopefully Andre Roberts gets healed up soon.
The Panthers, meanwhile, have bigger issues at hand. They lost their season opener to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and it wasn't pretty.
Carolina will try and get back on track this Sunday vs. the New York Giants.
