Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson was reportedly kicked out of Sunday's game versus the Rams after multiple sideline disputes with Carolina coaches.
Today, the veteran wide receiver who was reportedly involved in trade rumors since the Panthers fired head coach Matt Rhule last week, has officially been dealt to the Arizona Cardinals.
Anderson landed in Carolina in 2020 after four seasons with the New York Jets. Coincidentally, 2020 was arguably Anderson's best season as a pro, where he tallied 95 receptions for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns.
Since his first season with the Panthers, however, Anderson's numbers have fallen off drastically. In his second year with Carolina, the wideout's receptions and receiving yards were nearly halved, only logging 53 catches for 519 yards.
This season has been closer to the disappointing 2021 campaign for Anderson, and combined with the off-field antics displayed Sunday, Carolina finally decided it was time to move on.
Arizona is hoping they can rekindle what was meant to be a breakout campaign in 2020 for Anderson. With Marquise Brown suffering a potential season-ending injury in Week 6, the Cardinals will need Anderson to replace some of his targets, even with DeAndre Hopkins slated to return in Week 7.
