The 2022-23 NFL season officially kicks off this evening when the Los Angeles Rams host the Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium. With hours to go until game-time, NFL analyst Chris Simms has revealed his official NFL Playoff predictions and his Super Bowl picks.
Simms has the Eagles, 49ers, Buccaneers, Packers, Rams, Cowboys and Saints reaching the NFC Playoffs. In the AFC, Kansas City, Buffalo, Baltimore, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Los Angeles (Chargers) and Miami get into the postseason.
Simms then has Buffalo and Kansas City facing off in the AFC Championship with the Chiefs advancing. Philadelphia and San Francisco battle in the NFC Championship with the 49ers advancing. That would result in a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl when the Chiefs beat the 49ers with a late-game surge. Simms predicts a similar outcome.
"My predictions for the 2022 NFL season. Rematch of Super Bowl from 3 years ago. Same result too. I think Chiefs will be a team on a mission this year. Love the variety of their offense & defensive improvements. Could see them shoving the Jersey state bird in everyone's face," said Simms.
The biggest surprise out of all Chris Simms' predictions is the Eagles being the top seed in the NFC. That requires a big jump out of Jalen Hurts, which some are expecting.
It's also hard to imagine the Bills getting stopped once again by Kansas City, but we've seen that story before and know how it ends. The Chiefs tend to have the upper end in that matchup.
