Joe Burrow Made the Wrong Kind of History in Loss to Chargers
The Cincinnati Bengals failed to capitalize on another big game from star quarterback Joe Burrow on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The former LSU Tigers signal-caller had 356 passing yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions on 28-of-50 passing, but the Bengals still suffered a 34-27 defeat at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
It's the seventh loss of the season for the Bengals and their second in a row. Burrow also put together a monster performance in Week 10, but Cincinnati still dropped that game, 35-34, against the Baltimore Ravens. In that game, Burrow racked up 428 passing yards and four touchdowns against zero picks on 34-of-56 passing.
According to OptaSTATS, Burrow made history with the loss:
"Joe Burrow is the first QB in NFL history to throw for 300+ yards with 3+ TD passes and 0 INT in back-to-back games but lose both in regulation," OptaSTATS posted on X.
The Bengals must identify and address their issues before it's too late. They have their backs against the wall in the playoff race because a 4-7 record is only good for third in the AFC North and 10th in the AFC.
