Browns Tackle Walks off With Trainer Following Brief Skirmish

Cleveland Browns wrapped up their stay in West Virginia but it did not end without a fight at the end.

Cleveland Browns didn’t exactly end their stay at the Greenbrier how they wanted to. It ended in sprints ordered by head coach Kevin Stefanski after a fight was quickly broken up. That skirmish left offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. walking off with trainers.

It appeared that Ogbonnia Okoronkwo smacked tackle James Hudson following a rep. Okornkwo ran off as if he was kidding but Hudson did not take lightly to it. Tempers flared and Hudson threw a punch at the defensive end and it was quickly broken up.

During the congregation that came from it, Wheatley was shaken up. At this time, Stefanski says he does not have an update on the tackle.

Wheatley spent time with the Browns’ practice squad in 2022 and signed a reserve/future contract following the season. He’s in contention for a depth spot on the roster.

Cleveland travels back to Northeast Ohio today where they will prepare for their preseason opener in the Pro Football Hall of Fame game against the New York Jets on Thursday.
