Browns DE Myles Garrett Using Playoff Loss As Motivation

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, is using last year's playoff loss as motivation

Last season, the Cleveland Browns defense was one of the best in the league. They finished the season as the league's top-rated unit and defensive end Myles Garrett won AP Defensive Player of the Year.

Unfortunately, they didn’t play up to that standard in the AFC Wild Card round against the resurgent Houston Texans. After the struggle to win 11 games with five different quarterbacks, the Browns got blown out and sent home with a 45-14 loss.

"It's definitely at the forefront of my mind always," Garrett told ESPN. "That's the last taste of football that we all had. I'm trying to make that apparent to everyone and continue to keep it as motivation for myself."

The Browns are one of four teams that have never played in a Super Bowl. Garrett and his teammates have high hopes for the upcoming season.

"I want it for those guys because they deserve it," Garrett said to 247Sports. "They go out there every single day and earn it by working hard, by putting in the time, getting up early, leaving late and it takes those kinds of leaders every single day to really see that what we're doing is special and we want to show that we can sustain this for an entire year and build something special."

Browns fans have often been described as long-suffering, but that could all be over this year if Myles Garrett and his teammates have their say in it.
