Browns Star Had Honest Message for His Wife After Complaint About 'Sad' Steelers Fans
On Sunday afternoon the Pittsburgh Steelers avenged their Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns with a 27-14 victory at Acrisure Stadium.
The rivalry between the Browns and Steelers runs deep, too deep for Carly Teller, the wife of Browns offensive lineman Wyatt Teller, it seems. After the game on Sunday afternoon, Carly took to social media to call out the "embarrassing" Steelers fans who "attacked" her.
"The fans in Pittsburgh today were so blatantly disrespectful to me and the Browns girls. I’ve never felt so attacked by people who I literally did nothing to. Very sad/embarrassing behavior," she said.
During Monday morning's press appearance, Wyatt was asked about the complaint and about opposing fans. He suggested that as long as the verbal jabs are within bounds, everything is fair game.
"As long as they don't put their hands on a woman or crazy expose themselves or spit on my wife, you can say whatever you want," he said. "You gotta understand when you're in a hostile environment like that's what you're going to get."
"This rivalry goes back way too long to be like, 'Oh, you're just the wife, it doesn't matter, I hate you,' right? I pray that our fans are a little better, but I know the Dog Pound can get a little rowdy. So I'm not naive to the fact that his rivalry goes so far back that you have to understand it's hostile out there," he added.
In the end, the Steelers walked out with the 27-14 win to improve to 10-3 on the season and take a two-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North.
Up next for the Steelers is an in-state bout against the 11-2 Philadelphia Eagles.
