Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Indianapolis Colts signed veteran running back Tashard Choice Monday while placing running back/return specialist Chris Rainey on injured reserve.
Choice had been released by Buffalo last week after gaining 126 yards on 35 carries over the season's first 12 games. The 29-year-old journeyman has compiled 1,535 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns over six NFL campaigns with Dallas, Washington and Buffalo.
Rainey was signed by the Colts on Nov. 20 and served as the club's primary kick and punt returner over the last two games. He injured his leg while taking back a kickoff in the third quarter of Sunday's 42-28 loss at Cincinnati.
