Colts RB Jonathan Taylor Misses Practice Again This Thursday

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts held their regularly scheduled practice Thursday, but one key name was missing for the second day in a row.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jonathan Taylor missed practice for the second straight day this week while recovering from an ankle injury sustained in Indianapolis' Week 8 loss to the Commanders.

"No practice again for a second straight day for Jonathan Taylor," Schefter reported Thursday afternoon.

Taylor, the NFL's 2021 rushing title winner, hasn't been as explosive in 2022 due to a struggling offense and nagging injuries.

After playing and starting in all 17 games a year ago, Taylor has already missed two games this season and is in danger of missing a third this Sunday if he is unable to practice again tomorrow.

Compared to his 5.5 yards per carry mark last season, Taylor is only averaging 4.3 yards per attempt in 2022. Though Taylor was due for some touchdown regression after scoring 18 times a season ago, the back has only found pay dirt once in 2022.

The Colts are hoping Taylor can make a speedy recovery in time for Indianapolis' Week 9 matchup against New England.
