The Indianapolis Colts are hoping an integral part of their offense is able to make a return from injury this week.
After missing the team's Week 5 matchup against Denver, Colts' running back Jonathan Taylor made a return to the practice field today, albeit in a limited capacity.
"Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has returned to practice today, a good sign for his chances to play Sunday vs. Jacksonville," Zak Keefer of The Athletic tweeted Thursday morning.
Taylor, who suffered an ankle injury in Week 4 against Tennessee, has been a non-participant in every practice since that game until today.
The NFL's rushing leader from a season ago had an exceptional Week 1 against Houston, logging 31 carries for 161 yards and a touchdown.
Since that opening week, however, Taylor has carried the ball 50 times for an underwhelming 167 yards.
If Jonathan Taylor proves he's ready to go by continuing to practice this week, the Colts should feel much more comfortable about their rushing attack hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.
