CeeDee Lamb Sorry for Emotions: 'I Failed Myself And The Cowboys!'
Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb produced what might be one of his worst games in his pro career in the 28-25 loss to the Baltimore Ravens at AT&T Stadium, and let his frustrations and emotions get the best of him.
A fumble and multiple drops all led to a rather frustrating afternoon as the Ravens beat Dallas into submission.
With Lamb being vocal on the sidelines with Dak Prescott and visibly annoyed on the field, No. 88 didn't address the media post-game as speculation swirled about how CeeDee conducted himself.
Well, now, No. 88 has risen to the occasion, stepped forward to the microphone as a $34m APY receiver should, and took accountability for what went down on Sunday.
"I expect a lot out of myself, more than anyone could put on me," Lamb said. "And quite honestly, I failed myself, and obviously I failed the team, just as far as producing and being that game-breaker. I kind of let the game get to my head a little bit. Honestly I got to be truthful to myself and I played a part in that loss, a big part, honestly, and [neither] my body language nor attitude, approaching the situation help the situation or the outcome of the game."
That kind of self-awareness will no doubt be received in the locker room, and this isn't the first time Lamb's sideline emotions have been turned into headlines.
Last season, after the dismembering at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers, Lamb was visibly angry after having four catches for just 49 yards in the 42-10 loss.
Perhaps the best part is that Lamb and the Cowboys don't have to dwell on Sunday's performance for too long, with the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on the agenda.
You can bet that the entire nation will be watching No. 88 to see how he conducts himself and whether last week was a flash in the pan or if there is something deeper going on.
But based on previous experience, CeeDee could be about to tear apart the Giants.
