Cowboys vs. Browns: How to Watch, Betting Odds, Tom Brady TV Debut
FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys will open their 2024 season on the road against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and they won't even have the most famous quarterbacks in the building.
While the Browns and Cowboys will be fielding Deshaun Watson vs. Dak Prescott, respectively, another quarterback will be making his regular season debut in the broadcast booth - Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champion launches his FOX broadcast debut on Sunday.
On the field, it's a contest between two teams hoping to earn some respect in the NFL, and between two quarterbacks who hope to prove themselves in 2024. Watson has had little success - and little playing time - since being traded to the Browns in 2022. He's appeared in just 12 games due to suspensions and injuries and has largely disappointed since signing the fully guaranteed $230 million deal with the Browns.
Prescott hopes to remove the playoff monkey off his back. The former Mississippi State Bulldog is just 2-5 in the postseason in Dallas and has been tabbed as a player "who can't win the big game.''
The Browns should boast one of the best defenses in the league again this year and at the center of that unit is Arlington native and Cleveland defensive end, Myles Garrett. The unit is led by defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz.
“They've got an elite player on every level,” Prescott said. “That’s a strength. And having played Schwartz earlier in my career, understanding what he wants to do and watching their tape from last year, he’s very physical. They’re fast. They know how to play to their strengths and they’re a great matchup for us.”
