DeAndre Hopkins and Deshaun Watson share one thing in common: each will serve a six-game suspension during the 2022 season. However, the reason for each player's suspension differs greatly.
Hopkins received a six-game punishment for PED violations. Watson won't play six games because he was accused by 25 women of alleged sexual assault and misconduct.
In light of Watson's suspension, Hopkins has a four-word message for the NFL: "FREE ME I'm innocent."
This reaffirms what DeAndre Hopkins was saying about his suspension last week.
Hopkins continues to claim he never took anything on the NFL's banned substance list.
"I’ve never taken any of that kind of stuff," the All-Pro wide receiver said at training camp, via Arizona Sports. "If you know about what it is, it can be in shampoo, it can be in a lot of different things. Obviously the NFL is very black and white, so of course, I wish the rule wasn’t so black and white. It is what it is.
"It’s hard to know when something gets contaminated at a trace amount when you’re not working at the manufacturing company."
Hopkins, like Watson, will miss the first six games of the 2022 season.
