Only two fantasy defense/special teams (DSTs) scored touchdowns in Week 15, a sharp drop from Week 14. However, defensive touchdowns are always a gamble. Fantasy owners, especially in Week 16, should be looking at the best possible matchups. Look at the waiver wire in your league. It is possible that some DSTs have been dropped and not picked back up. The Buffalo Bills, the No. 1 DST from Week 15, is still available in 20 percent of leagues. The Bills are ranked No. 5 for Week 16 against the New England Patriots. Cam Newton has struggled and the Bills are going to take advantage of that.
The Cleveland Browns are the top-ranked DST for Week 16. They are facing the New York Jets, who got their first win in Week 15. The Browns fared well against the Giants in Week 15, and that should continue into the fantasy championships. The Jets, now that they aren't going to be winless, likely aren't going to try to win any more games. Sure, the players want to win, but they also want the No. 1 draft pick, if possible. That means no more winning. The Browns certainly do want to win, so this is a solid DST start for Week 16.
