Derrick Henry is a two-time Pro Bowl selection, the 2020 AP Offensive Player of the Year, and just one year removed from posting the ninth most rushing yards in football despite playing only eight games last season.
According to many in the NFL world, "King" Henry remains the top running back in football.
Henry, though, believes another AFC tailback deserves the crown for best at the position.
When asked his opinion on the best back in football by NBC's Mike Tirico, Henry swiftly responded, "That's Nick Chubb."
Both Henry and Chubb have dominated opposing defenses since entering the NFL. In fact, since 2019, one of Chubb or Henry has finished as a top-two back in terms of rushing yards per season.
After the 2021 season, Chubb ranked second in the league in rushing yards. In 2020, Derrick Henry ranked first and earned the NFL's rushing title. 2019 saw both backs rank inside the top two, as Henry beat out Chubb for the league's top rusher by just under 50 yards.
This season is shaping up to be more of the same for the NFL's two best backs.
Through eight games in 2022, Henry ranks first in the league in rushing yards while Chubb, the second-leading rusher this season, is just 29 yards behind.
Chubb, however, leads all NFL backs in touchdowns with 10, while, you guessed it, Derrick Henry ranks second with 9.
Both running backs will have a chance to improve their 2022 rushing totals in Week 10 when Henry's Titans take on the Broncos and Chubb's Browns square off with the Dolphins.
