Detroit Lions 2023 Hero Released By AFC West Team

The Detroit Lions made it to the 2023-2024 NFC Championship Game on the strength of their hard work, 'Grit' and determination, and few players exemplified those principles better than wide receiver Josh Reynolds.

Reynolds became the Lions' 4th leading receiver last season before opting to sign with coach Sean Payton's Denver Broncos in the offseason.

He released a heartfelt message to supportive Detroit Lions fans as the news was announced this past April.

"To all the Lions fans, thank you for all the support over the past two and half years. It's been an unreal experience and support."

This season, Reynolds ranks seventh among all Broncos receivers with 12 catches for 183 yards and one touchdown.

On Tuesday, the Broncos announced that they were moving on from the former Lions standout.

Reynolds was the victim of a drive-by shooting this past October during which he was shot twice, once in the left arm and once in the back of his head, after leaving a strip club around 3 a.m.

He was not seriously injured in the shooting, but has been on injured reserve due to a finger condition since the Broncos' fifth game of the season.

Reynolds' release has fueled questions of whether a reunion with coach Dan Campbell and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson's Detroit Lions could be forthcoming.

Lions wideout Kalif Raymond is currently out with a foot injury and Reynolds' familiarity with Johnson's offense could make him a possible target of Lions GM Brad Holmes.
