Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has announced an official decision on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
The Dolphins have announced that Tua Tagovailoa will not play vs. the New York Jets this Sunday.
It's possible Tagovailoa misses multiple games. However, McDaniel is making it clear there's no official timetable for the third-year quarterback to return.
Backup Teddy Bridgewater will get the start for the Dolphins vs. the Jets.
Mike McDaniel says he can comfortably say Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) will be OUT Sunday vs. Jets. Teddy Bridgewater will start. Too early for definite timeline to return. Tua is in the building while in concussion protocol.
A disappointing development for Tua Tagovailoa, but one that is necessary.
Tagovailoa's injury last Thursday night was one of the scariest football injuries we have seen in years.
Hopefully the Dolphins quarterback gets plenty of rest here over the next week or so. He definitely needs it.
Mike McDaniel, meanwhile, is moving ahead with Teddy Bridgewater under center.
